BIOGRAPHY
Barbara's love of photography started in her hometown of Chicago at just eight years old, when she bought her first camera (a Kodak 110 Instamatic) at the local cigar store. She shot everything that was in front of her from elementary school, through college.

During college, she majored in graphic design; minored in photography; and took classes in painting and theatre set design. When she was not in class, she worked a part-time job in a camera store – the only girl working with a bunch of guys talking photography all day long. She purchased her first Nikon camera system with her employee discount and became determined to find a way to incorporate photography into a full-time profession.

Her career accomplishments include working as a booker and agency director; pre- and post- production for catalog shoots; estimating and managing budgets; research and negotiations; working as a set designer for fashion and still life shoots; scouting locations for clients; scheduling and overseeing photo crews – sometimes as many as five fashion shoots (studio and location) and three still shoots at a time. Her client list includes companies, photographers and other producers from all over the country (New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami Beach, just to name a few).

Barbara is the consummate liaison between the client(s), creative team and financial sectors.

With the free time that she has, she loves to travel, meet new people, solving puzzles and learning more about her Japanese heritage.

After many years working within a corporate setting, Barbara has made the big move to sunny California and calls Los Angeles home. She started her own production company and has been going strong for almost ten years. She enjoys every moment of it, despite the constant pleas from her friends and family back in NYC, Chicago, Miami and Dallas to come back to cook her famous French garlic chicken and apple tart!
